Rotary Club | Coming Together To Build a Home in One Day | The South Pasadenan | South Pasadena News

Corazon Update – Just a reminder that the Club Board has authorized participation in a project to build a house in a day in Tecate Mexico on October 26, 2024.  This will be a three day excursion with travel to Chula Vista, CA on Friday Oct 25, construction on the 26th and travel home on the 27th.  President John has reached out to other clubs to participate with us with the goal of getting two clubs to join us and split the cost of the project and contribute to the 30-50 volunteers that are needed.  There are currently 17 people tentatively signed up.  Dan Watson is coordinating and collecting names and contact information.  If you are interested in learning more and think you might be available to participate please let Dan know.

Our club is a proud supporter of ShelterBox, and last week's speaker, Leo Lawrensen, (ShelterBox Ambassador and fellow Rotarian from the Oro Valley club), provided an update on the impact that we have made through our partnership.  The mission of Shelter Box is to build awareness of global displacement and to facilitate providing families with life-saving shelter and essential tools and supplies that will enable them to rebuild their homes and transform their lives after disaster.  Our SaddleBrooke club is a ShelterBox HERO Rotary Club that has committed to making an impact in worldwide disaster response.  We look forward to continuing and increasing our support to this worthwhile cause.
