Sloan Gallipeo was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She was named after the priest that married her parents, Father Sloan. Her family moved to Boston, Mass when she was 12 years old. Sloan’s father bought her a used Pentax K1000 film camera when she was in 7th grade. She studied photography in high school and enjoyed photojournalism.
Sloan got her college degree in History at Denison University in Ohio. Mike and Sloan met while working for the same computer networking company.
Sloan loves photography and traveling, camping, hiking and running. She qualified and ran the Boston Marathon in 2022 and just ran a 37 mile trail race in Prescott. Her goal is to run a 125 mile trail race from Jerome to Flagstaff, AZ. Sloan joined the Surf City Rotary Club in Huntington Beach California in 2012 and served as president one year.
Mike Gallipeo was born in California and lived there until 2020. Helped start 3 different computer networking companies. Now retired. Past President (twice) of Surf City Rotary club of Huntington Beach, California. First joined Rotary over 20 years ago. Mike and Sloan have been married for 30 years.
Mike loves running, hiking, and RVing. He has run a full marathon (26.2 miles) on all 7 continents- yes that includes antarctica.
Mike and Sloan now split their time between SaddleBrooke Ranch and a home in Prescott, Arizona. They have just learned how to play pickleball here at SaddleBrooke.
They are both looking forward to being members of the Rotary Club of SaddleBrooke.
