Hank Mueller
Mammoth, Arizona Police Department

 

Chief Hank Mueller is a native of Arizona who has spent the majority of
his life serving in Law Enforcement.  He began his career with Maricopa
County Sheriff’s Office as a Detention Officer and Volunteer Posseman in
2002.  While with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office he was assigned
to the Special Response Team, and later to Canine under the SWAT
Division, prior to joining the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy
Sheriff.  Chief Mueller is a graduate of the Central Arizona Regional
Law Officer’s Training Academy where he was the top graduate of his
class in both academics and physical fitness.

He also holds certifications as a General Instructor and Active Shooter
Response Instructor.  As well as received specialized advanced training
in the areas of Child Abduction Response and Investigations, Open-Source
Intelligence for Counter Narcotics Investigations, Informant Recruitment
and Management, Tactical Interviews, Uniform Interdiction, and Advanced
Media Relations for Law Enforcement.  He has earned 3 unit citation
awards, 2 Sheriff’s commendations, and been recognized on a state level
with an award for Valor by ASIS International as a result of his actions
in the line of duty.

During Chief Mueller’s Career as a Law Enforcement Officer, he has spent
several years working in the Copper Corridor region of Pinal and Gila
counties where he has become familiar with the unique issues and crime
trends that impact the citizens he proudly serves.  Since assuming his
role as Chief of Police in Mammoth, one of the areas he has focused on
is community engagement by implementing programs such as Coffee with a
Cop, and building a relationship with the Neighborhood Watch program. 
He has also identified areas for improvement in the Mammoth Police
Department, and taken on projects to improve Mammoth PD’s system for
evidence tracking, dispatch services, and computer network security. 
Chief Mueller’s philosophy on law enforcement is a simple one that he
conveys to his Officers and that is to try and leave everyone you
contact better than you found them.

He is married to his wife Erica who is also a Law Enforcement Officer,
currently serving with Chandler Police Department as a Family Crimes/SVU
Detective.  They have two dogs that they enjoy taking with them on hikes
and other outdoor adventures.
