Important reminder:  This week's meeting on Thursday, 3/23,  will be a field trip to the Arizona History Museum in Tucson (949 E 2nd St, Tucson, AZ 85719).  Lunch is at 11 am and the meeting will be at noon. We will learn about the museum and receive a brief tour.  If you would like to join us, but have not paid your $26 (for admission and lunch), please contact Wanda Bailey immediately:  wandaleebailey@gmail.com or (858) 243-3768.  An email with details regarding carpooling and parking will go out to those who have signed up.

Members of our club joined other community volunteers on Saturday at the SBCO Food Drive.  Over 100 volunteers came together to sort and box food that will benefit the Tri Community Food Bank.  Additionally over $65,000 was collected in cash donations.
Thank you to Don and Elaine Terry,  John and Monica Oszust,  John and Linda Howard, Ken and Leslie Castner, Tim Morsoni, Leslie Hawkins and Rudi Faller.
Mark your calendars for April 22, 2022!.  For this years Rotary Day of Service, we will be going to Oracle to assist in the annual maintenance of Triangle Ranch YMCA Camp.  From painting, cleaning, yard maintenance, there will be a hands on job for members and guests.

Your generous donations of personal hygiene items are needed now more than ever.   Thank you to prospective members, Mike and Slone Gallipeo who saw the need, and came to their first meeting with a box of donations, If each of our members would purchase one or two extra hygiene items when doing your normal shopping, we could fill these shelves in no time.  There will be a donation box at the greeters table every week at our meeting.  The donated items will go to IMPACT who serves our local food bank.
Linda Howard thanks Elaine Terry for the 2nd donation of hygiene supplies donated  Brandon Terry, Ambassador for Subaru of America.  These beautiful packets will be shared with Impact of Southern Arizona and distributed by the food bank at Impact.
It is always a fun time when we come together to cook and serve food at the Oracle Community Center.  Plan on joining the fun on April 3, 2023.  For more information see Linda Howard or Wendy Guyton.

A District 5500 Matching Grant has been written and approved to fund half the cost of the Classroom Emergency Lockdown Kit project.  56 lockdown kits have been ordered by our club and will be installed in all classrooms of the Mammoth San Manuel PK-12 School.  When equipment arrives we will be looking for volunteers to assemble and deliver the kits.
RYLA delegates Brian Mullen and Joana Cono,  joined adult advisor Liese Razzeto, at our March 9 meeting to share the experiences they had at this year's Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.  RYLA was held over Martin Luther Day King Weekend in Prescott.
Our meeting on Thursday March 9, 2023, played  to a full house.  Having to add an additional table is the kind of problem any Rotary club would love to have.  Since less than 2 weeks ago we all woke up to snow, maybe you snowbirds should stay put for awhile and enjoy the best of Arizona has to offer.

A 24 Hour Cycling Event held a few miles from where our club meets each Thursday, suggested it's 1900 riders bring non perishable food items to the starting line of the race held February 17th.  The donated food now fills  the shelves of the Tri-Community Food Bank, in Mammoth.

Here are the crews we had that made that happen.  Thank you Harvey Smith for coordinating this partnership.

Tim Morsani, Deb Rue, Harvey Smith, Liese Razzeto, Leslie and Ken Castner,  were our unloading team on Saturday.

The February 20 sorting crew included, Gordon Wainwright,  Dan Watson,  Leslie Hawkins, Don Terry, Elaine Terry and a Community Volunteer from Mammoth.

The February 28 sorting crew finished the job.   Ric and Cindy, Mike, Tim and Linda and Tom.

After our meeting Thursday, several members finished the afternoon learning the history of our area.  Thank you to our Community Service Committee who arranged the field trip to the museum.
